In February 2002, the World Congress on the Peaceful Reunification of China and World Peace was held in Sydney, Austrulia. The conference approved a declaration to support the reunification and oppose the Taiwan Independence. The previous US president Clinton and the previous Australian prime minister Fraser delivered speeches on the conference to support the “One China” policy.
