Tokyo Conference: In July 2001, the “Overseas Chinese World Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China—New Century Tokyo Conference” was held in Tokyo, which was co-sponsored by some major overseas Chinese communities in Japan. The conference passed the Tokyo Statement.
