On the basis of the “1992 Consensus”, Wang Daohan, director of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits and Koo Chen-fu, board director of the Strait Exchange Foundation interviewed in Singapore on April 29, 1993, signed four agreements, which were respectively the Common Agreement of Wang and Koo’s Talks, the Agreement on a System for the Communications and Talks Between SEF and ARATS, the Agreement on the Inquiry and Confirmation of Notary Certificates Across the Straits, and the Agreement on the Inquiry and Compensation Concerning Regestered Letters Across the Straits. That has been the first public cross-Straits interview between senior officials since 1949, which marks a historically significant step in the development of the relationships between two sides.
