In March 1994, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress examined and approved the Law on Protection of Taiwan People’s Investment, legalizing the protection of Taiwan people’s rights and benefits in their investment.
    In December 12, 1999, the State Council enacted the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Law on Protection of Taiwan People’s Investment, which further improved the protective system of laws and regulations for Taiwan people’s investment in the mainland.
