1984年,3万套万向节总成第一次出口美国，成为第一家进入美国汽车零部件维修市场的中国企业。

　　1994年，在美国芝加哥设立万向美国公司。十多年间，实现了从产品走出去、到人员走出去、再到企业走出去的跨越，从单一的产品销售扩大到进行国际资源配置，并先后在8个国家建立了30家海外分公司，构建成涵盖40多个国家和地区的国际营销网络。与海外企业建立起战略同盟关系，产品为通用、福特等汽车公司配套，成为第一家进入国际主机件厂配套线的中国零部件企业。

　　2001年，收购包括美国上市公司UAI在内的9家企业。

　　2002年8月，美国伊利诺伊州政府命名8月 12日为“万向日”，以表彰万向对该州经济发展的贡献。

　　2003年10月，收购全球最大的翼形万向节传动轴一级供应商一美国洛克福特公司。

In 1984, WanXiang exported 30,000 sets of u-joint assemblies to the USA, which marked the beginning of Chinese enterprises entering American aftermarket of automotive industry.
