嘉兴（乍浦）港次国务院批准对外国籍船舶开放的一类口岸，具有良好深水岸线和港口条件，年吞吐能力1500万吨。口岸联检海关、国检、海事、边检及港务机构齐全。

　　嘉兴港区具有临港产业和出口加工业的巨大潜力，港口后方由省级乍浦经济开发区和国家级嘉兴出口加工区。开发区规划面积21。8平方公里，其中浙江乍浦石油化学工业园系浙江省“十五”期间重点发展的三个重点化工园区之一。嘉兴出口加工区为浙江省仅有的三个国家级出口加工区之一。

　　乍浦是一座历史悠久的千年古镇，素有“讲浙门户、海口重镇”之称，现正在建成杭州湾北岸现代化的滨海港口新城。

Jiaxing Port & Development Zone is lying in the northern bank of Hangzhou Bay, south wing of  Shanghai City, which is a gold area in Yangtze River Delta by the Chinese east coastline. It is also one main hub of communications of Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou-Ningbo Area and 1 00 kilometers away from the above cities. It governs Jiaxing Port, Zhejiang Zhapu Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing Export Processing Zone and Zhapu Town with the total area of 54 square kilometers and a population of 72thousand.
