良渚文化

 　　余杭是中华文明曙光升起的地方，是距今 5300至 4000年的良渚文化的发祥地。余杭良渚文化遗址是实证中华5000年文明史规模最大、水平最高的遗址，是全人类共有珍贵历史文化遗产，是世界级的文化品牌。良渚遗址出上的玉器、漆器、木器，其创作的理念和制作的工艺等都达到了世界同期最高水平；保留下来的古村落皇陵墓地、祭坛、土垣、大型建筑遗址等多种遗存，被认为是良渚文化时期的政治、经济、文化和宗教中心，是中华民族的瑰宝。1994年初，国务院将良渚遗址列入中国政府向联合国组织推荐“世界遗产名录”的预备清单。2000年，浙江省政府成立了良渚遗址申报“世界遗产名录”领导小组，并建设良港国家遗址公园。
