SHENZHEN - As many as 250,000 spectators had watched the games of the Shenzhen Universiade until Monday night, said an organizer on Tuesday.
Wang Zhi, director of Shenzhen Universiade's ticket centre, said tickets for 143 of the total 354 events had been sold out, including all the events within swimming, diving, calisthenics, athletics and artistic gymnastics.
But a great number of seats were still not taken for track and field, football, basketball and volleyball, said Wang.
The price of the tickets ranged from 30 to 300 yuan ($4.6-46), considerably lower than the price for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the Guangzhou Asiad in 2010.
The 26th Summer Universiade officially opened here on Friday evening, and will run till August 23.
