The National Dance Sport Open Series, coming to a close here in Beijing on Thursday evening. Three additional couples have now qualified for the upcoming Asian Games thanks to strong performances.
6 pairs took to the dance floor for the Latin Dance finals. Wang Wei and Chen Jin from Beijing Dance Sport College, who were leaders before the Beijing leg, stepped up, staging 5 routines of Rumba, Samba, Cha-Cha-cha, Jive and Paso Doble in an impressive fashion, winning the title, qualifying for the Asian Games.
Guangdong's duo, Shi Lei and Zhang Baiyu, trailed the Beijing pair and eventually finished second. Their 5 routines also impressed the judges with flawless timing and footwork. Shi and Zhang will be second seeds for China.
Meanwhile, another Guangdong couple Fan Wenbo and Chen Shiyao danced to third place, which secured a ticket to their hometown this November. The three couples are currently top-notch Latin dancers and their only goal is to win the gold medal.
