GUANGZHOU, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- First-seeded Ma Long surprisingly beat teammate Wang Hao to win China's seventh and final gold medal of table tennis at Guangzhou Asiad here on Saturday.
Reigning world champion Wang Hao won the first game by 11-9 but could not hold on Ma Long's attack and fell behind by 1-3 at the end of the fourth game.
Though Wang Hao won the fifth game 11-4, Ma Long managed to secure his victory by beating Wang Hao 12-10 in the sixth game and took the gold.
Ma Long's gold medal is China's eighth men's singles title since China took part in Asian Games for the first time in 1974.
