Some 415,300 people entered the Expo site despite light rain by 9pm yesterday, the fifth consecutive day with visitors' number exceeding 400,000. Attendance to the Expo has reached 62,465,800.

As of 6pm, 61,000 visitors had passed through Houtan entrance, compared with 69,000 at Changqing Road entrance, 72,000 at Shangnan Road entrance, and 51,000 at Gaoke Road entrance.

As many as 129 shows were performed at Expo venues between the morning and 10pm yesterday, attracting about 256,300 spectators.

A total of 5,580 volunteers served at the Expo.

Five on-site health clinics treated 181 visitors yesterday by 4pm.

Holders of standard tickets are being given the chance to visit the Expo during the last week of the event from October 25 to 31 if they pay an extra 40 yuan (US$6), the Expo organiser said. The exchange service began yesterday and opens from 8am to 8.50pm at ticket stalls at Expo entrances.

The last week of the Expo has been designated as peak days, drawing on the experience of previous Expo events. The price will come to 200 yuan, with a standard ticket costing 160 yuan.

A 160-yuan (US$24) Expo standard day ticket can be swapped for two night tickets (90 yuan each) at the gates from 4pm to 8:50pm until October 29.

The organisers have also said that on-site ticket sales or exchange on the last two days of the Expo, namely October 30 and 31, will be suspended.
