Some 266,400 people entered the Expo site by 7pm yesterday, bringing the total number of Expo visitors to 47.17 million so far.
Among yesterday's visitors, 72,900 came in tour groups and 40,800 were local residents using complimentary tickets offered by the Shanghai government. A total of 35,891 tickets were sold at the gates, 10,609 of them for evening visit.
As of 6pm, 50,000 visitors had passed through Houtan entrance, compared with 38,000 at Shangnan Road entrance, 42,000 at Changqing Road entrance and 37,000 at Gaoke Road entrance.
As many as 68 shows were performed at Expo venues from morning to 5pm yesterday, attracting 43,800 spectators.
Five on-site health clinics treated 239 visitors yesterday by 4pm.
The Expo Organizer expects some 60,000 group visitors today.
The Organizer advises people to make an early visit to avoid overcrowding in the event's final two months.
