What are the marriage registration procedures for compatriots in Taiwan?

1. The concerned marriage party of compatriots in Taiwan shall consult with marriage registration departments on laws and regulations.

2. Both parties concerned shall go to marriage registration departments by themselves to present marriage application, submit relevant certificates and identifications and fill in the Marriage Application.

3. The marriage registration departments examine the certificates and identifications provided by the concerned parties and report to leaders for approvals.

4. Marriage registrations permits will be given to those who accord with the laws and regulations, and the registration dates will be informed in advance. Both parties concerned shall go to marriage registration departments by themselves to receive Marriage Certificate. The marriage registration is handled within 30 days since the application is accepted.
