Chinese able to resolve problems for peaceful development of cross-Straits relations: Top Advisor Jia

Chinese across the Taiwan Straits have the capability and wisdom to resolve the existing problems for the peaceful and stable development of cross-Straits relations and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said in Beijing Friday.

They can make joint efforts for this purpose, said Jia Qinglin,a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee at the opening of a cross-Straits economic and trade forum.

Mainland's progress benefits both sides of Taiwan Straits: Jia

Economic and social development of the Chinese mainland will not only benefit people on the mainland but also bring about enormous business opportunities to the compatriots in Taiwan, senior Party official Jia Qinglin said in Beijing Friday.

The development of the mainland is sure to promote cross-Straits economic exchange and cooperation in a wider range and broader fields and to a higher level, said Jia, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, at the opening of a cross-Straits economic and trade forum.
