The eleventh cross-straits trade fair is up and running in Fuzhou in Fujian Province.
This year's event welcomes the largest ever Taiwan delegation. The group is comprised of companies from across the island.
Taiwan companies say they are eager for a chance to promote their products on the mainland. The island's tourism industry also hopes to attract more mainland visitors. The cross-straits trade fair has been
very positive for businesses on both sides of the Taiwan Straits over the past ten years. Contracts signed at the fair account for one third of Fuzhou's overseas investment every year.
This year's fair is expected to result in 1.5 billion US dollars worth of business deals for more than 180 projects.
