China has added 26 scenic spots to its list of national parks, increasing the number of state-level scenic spots to 177.
Among the recently added sites are the Three Mountains, or Sanshan in Jiangsu Province, and Fangyan scenic spot in Zhejiang Province.
The new group of national parks will help protect the country's natural resources.
So far, 16 national parks have been listed as World Heritage Sites.
The total area of the scenic parks accounts for more than one percent of the country's area. |
