Drinking water quality up to standard in Changchun
   日期:2003-12-30 11:09        编辑: system        来源:

The water quality of all the drinking water sources in Changchun has been up to the state-prescribed standards for five consecutive years since 1999, taking the lead among the nation??s 49 key cities.
The city has always paid high attention to the protection of its Xinlicheng and Shitoumen reservoirs, the sources of drinking water for the city??s dwellers.
Before the rainy season sets in every year, the city government makes all-round examinations of the areas surrounding the reservoirs. It forbids the entry of diesel engine-driven boats plying into the reservoirs.
In the meantime, the city has returned 4.6 hectares of farmland to forests and the forest coverage in the areas reaches well over 95%.
