To date, more than 200 universities in China have set up majors involving studies of the environment, said Pan Yue, vice-minister of the State Environmental Protection Administration, on Wednesday at a conference for presidents of various universities in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference, organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UNEP-Tongji University school of environmental studies and sustainable development, was focussed on how to strengthen environmental education for college and university students and postgraduates. |
