Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says anti-SARS work in Beijing has embarked on the right track and made initial progress.
However, during an inspection tour in the capital the premier says the situation is still grim and lots of work need to be done.
Wen Jiabao points out that as Beijing is the political and cultural center of the nation, anti-SARS work in the city is especially important. He praises the city for taking a series of measures in its prevention and treatment work.
The premier urges officials to be confident and active in the fight against SARS. He says the most urgent task now is to depend on scientific means to curb its spread and raise the cure rate.
