ADDIS ABABA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopian Minister of Culture and Tourism Mohamoud Drir said on Friday the Shanghai Expo serves a good opportunity for Ethiopia in particular and the entire world in general to emulate experience.
The minister also wished the Shanghai Expo a great success.
In a exclusive interview with Xinhua, Mohamoud Drir said that the Ethiopian team to the expo would be more successful as it is set in line with the general theme of the expo "Better City, Better Life".
The Minister expressed his firm belief that the expo would be a great success as China has previously proved itself that it is capable of hosting such great event on its land.
"China has proved itself during the Beijing Olympic Games. So my imagination is that all eyes of the world are set on Shanghai. This is the place where the entire world, different cultures, different people from different parts of the world are supposed to meet. And the opening ceremony is really marvelous. It will be an area for all of us to emulate that kind of experience," said the minister.
Mohamoud Drir said the Ethiopian team would be successful at the expo as it is in line with the general theme of the Expo. "I believe that the Ethiopian delegation will feel good because our team is in line with the general theme of the expo 'Better City, Better Life', and our team of experts has been already in China and a cultural troupe will join them later," he said. "There will be coffee ceremony, the Ethiopian tradition, culture, and contribution of all cities, like the ancient rock-hewn churches of Lalibella, and the Jegol City of Harar Walls will be seen."
He further said the expo would be a good opportunity for Ethiopia to attract more Chinese investors.
"I imagine that the Ethiopian team will attract more and more people from China and Chinese investors will also have a session whereby they can discuss their success stories here in Ethiopia."
The minister expressed his belief that the Chinese would display their known hospitality to Ethiopians, and also to other counterparts. "And I believe that the very benevolent Chinese hospitality which we already known will be at its best at this expo in Shanghai," the minister added.
