China's government and military agencies are sending more disaster-relief to help people in the quake zone to get through the difficulties and harsh weather, according to a government official Thursday.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) and the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) will send 7,000 stoves to the quake zone to help local residents keep warm as the area was still experiencing cold weather, Pang Chenmin, MCA spokesperson said at a press conference.

The MCA, MOC,the National Development and Reform Commission, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), the Red Cross Society of China and local civil affairs authorities have sent 49,480 tents and 164,700 cotton-stuffed coats to the quake zone, according to Pang.

They had also allocated 198,900 cotton quilts, 920 tonnes of rice, 3,680 tonnes of flour, 400 mobile homes, 20,000 folding beds, 650 mobile toilets and other quake-relief materials to the region.

Among them, 37,600 tents, 117,000 cotton-stuffed coats, 190,000 cotton quilts, 1,170 tonnes of drinking water and instant food, 100,000 portions of combat rations, 650 mobile toilets had arrived in the quake-hit Yushu in northwest Qinghai Province as of Thursday, he said. BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The current distribution of quake relief materials is in good order, said an official with the Ministry of Civil Affairs at a press conference here Thursday.

The ministry spokesman Pang Chenmin made the remarks when asked to comment on relief materials distribution in quake zone.

Pang admitted difficulties in providing relief goods in the initial stages due to short supply of materials in quake-hit Yushu and poor road access to the region.

However, the delivery of quake-relief materials was soon brought into order thanks to government's efforts to allocate and transport quake-relief materials from nationwide to the quake zone. Pang said. "Registration and distribution of relief materials are well organized and managed".

The 7.1-magnitude earthquake in Yushu, Qinghai Province, had left 2,183 dead by Wednesday afternoon with 84 people reported missing and 12,135 injured.
