HONG KONG -- Hong Kong's Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing will depart for Taipei on Thursday to officiate at the opening ceremony of Hong Kong Week 2012, local government said on Wednesday.

Tsang will pay the visit in the capacity of Vice-Chairperson of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council.

Commencing on Nov. 23, Hong Kong Week 2012 is co-organized by the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee and the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office (Taiwan).

The 10-day event will introduce to the Taiwan public the creative works by Hong Kong's cultural and arts sector as well as provide an opportunity for art practitioners and organizations in the two places to communicate and exchange.
