BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 430 people have been punished for violating laws and disciplines during a national inspection to find out whether China's huge economic stimulus package was properly used.
China's disciplinary inspection and supervision organs launched a nationwide campaign, starting from the fourth quarter of 2008, to check the implementation of the country's 4 trillion yuan (roughly 604 billion U.S. dollars) stimulus plan.
The plan was introduced in late 2008 to boost domestic demand in response to international crisis.
A total of 314 cases were registered, and the investigations of 291 cases were concluded as of the end of August 2010. |
