The search and rescue operation for a missing bus and its passengers on Taiwan's eastern coastal Suao-Hualien Highway has entered its 12th day. Nineteen mainland tourists and four local Taiwan residents are missing in a landslide on the highway 12 days ago.
The latest find came this morning when a piece of bone, suspected to be human, was found among stones 50 meters from the sea. It's been taken to an agency for DNA testing. Rescue workers have also found a long metal piece buried on the accident site.
However, it turned out to be a highway guard bar. The commander of the rescue team has indicated that as long as the weather permits, they will do all they can to find the missing tourists. Helicopters, ships and excavators are used to scour the area for the missing tourists and their bus. |
